The Tropicals and Houseplants Not-a-Raffle-Raffle

Posted by @dave on
Let's kick off this week with a nice raffle. Hoyas, Plumerias, gift certificates, and more. Each ticket is a chance to win, so dig up the acorns you squirreled away because it's time for another raffle!

Here we go again with another Not-a-Raffle Raffle. Why is this not a regular raffle? Well, in a regular raffle, you pay for the tickets with money. But at ATP raffles you buy your tickets with acorns. Tickets cost 5 acorns each. Don't know what acorns are? Click here to learn about acorns, and how to get them.

As always, the ticket buying window is open now and will close on Monday at 6:00pm Central time. The drawing will be done and posted on Tuesday. The first place winner gets first pick of all the prizes, and then the second winner picks, and so forth until all prizes are claimed. Important note for winners: If you are contacted as a winner and asked to choose a prize you have 3 days to respond with your choice. If you do not respond within 3 days, the next placed winner will be contacted and allowed to pick.

Good luck to all participants, and now let's talk about the prizes:

2013-11-08/dave/706034The first prize from @AlohaHoya is three Hoya plants:

  Hoya 'Poring'

  Hoya 'Iris Marie'

Hoyas have been Carol's passion for a long time and her ideal climate in Hawaii has been a big help.  Her plants are super healthy.

Not enough from Carol? Right! @AlohaHoya is offering up prize #3 which is a rare Hedychium 'sp. Nova'. The photos below show the plant.

Next up, #4, @Dutchlady1 is offering a Plumeria plant to be shipped to one winner in the springtime. Which Plumeria will it be? That's currently a surprise and it will be selected in the spring from a list she'll offer. You can be sure, though, that any Plumeria coming from Dutchlady1 is going to be a nice one!

#5: A $50 gift certificate to Florida Colors Plumeria. In 1992, Florida Colors Plumeria opened its doors at 23740 SW 147th Ave in Homestead, Florida. With a grand plan to provide courteous service, extensive knowledge and outstanding production in the areas of Plumeria, we have grown from a few plumeria to thousands. Their vision is to produce the highest quality plants available at the best prices.

#6: @Trish is back again, this time providing a $50 gift certificate for her store. Farm soaps, salves, and textile goodies that she has been making for her own family for years, and selling to her local community. Now available for you as well.

And finally, for the 7th and 8th place winners, I will give 50 acorns each. :)

Good luck!

This raffle is now closed!
