Daylilies Love Alfalfa

Alfalfa pellets make a great slow release fertilizer that also adds texture to the soil.

Add a handful of alfalfa pellets when planting daylilies. Mix the pellets into the soil in the planting hole. Daylilies also do well when watered with alfalfa tea. I always spread a layer of alfalfa pellets with the other amendments when preparing to till up a new planting bed.
