Empty plastic food containers, such as those for instant coffee and grated cheese, can be useful around the garden or greenhouse.

These containers are easy to grip even with gloves on, lightweight, and they won’t break if dropped. Use them for broadcasting or storing seed, distributing alfalfa meal and other fertilizers, or just for storage. I find the shaker spout especially helpful when you want to have precise or uniform control in smaller areas.
