Fill a hollowed-out pumpkin, carved or not, with potting soil, and add edibles, such as lettuce and chard, or decorative plants. (Give Jack some wild hair!)
I usually plant lettuce, mustard, and chard in them. The options are endless, so give the planter your own touch. The planter rarely needs water because of the moisture in the pumpkin. And the whole thing biodegrades eventually, making this a green venture from start to finish.
