This simple way to support small peat pot trays for transporting will make planting a little easier.

When we plant the small 10-cube peat seedling trays and put them in the cold frame, they become fragile if they are not supported. We sometimes use the plastic trays from the greenhouse, which hold a few of them well. However, we wanted to be able to transport the individual trays to the covered raised beds, and this is how we do it.

Take a piece of the wire netting that is typically used for putting over gutters to keep out leaves (about 5" x 36") and bend it to make a carrier to fit the peat tray.

The trays are then easy to move around and tuck in between other seedlings in the raised beds.

We label them with cut-up sections of old blinds and permanent marker.
