dense, oval-shaped, deep red-purple heads, weighing 2 to 4 pounds. bred for Canada and northern United States.
Direct sow into the garden approximately 4 weeks before the last frost date or start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting, early spring and fall. Vernalization required to germinate and grow. Frost Hardy and withstanding temperatures below 28 degrees. Mulching helps to moderate soil temperature and to maintain soil moisture.
