| Canna (Canna x generalis 'Lemon Gem') | From January 7, 2015 to April 15, 2015 | Bloomed I have found this Canna to have a great show of blooms in the warmer months of the year in my area of Australia .. that being anywhere from Late November thru to mid April, depending on the start of warmer temps to the beginning of the frosts & colder temps. It may even miss a bloom season if the weather is unstable. |
| Lily (Lilium longiflorum var. longiflorum) | From January 1, 2015 to June 1, 2015 | Miscellaneous Event I have had this species Lilim growing for a number of years. My original (very large) root/corm division came from an extremely old garden that sadly no longer exists, due to road development in the area of the highway where it was. Both the house & gardens were long ago demolished. Many plants from the garden 'escaped', including the liliums as they naturalise' very easily due to the nature of their many, many seeds. I also have other hybrid liliums in my garden in close proximity to these .. I am collecting seeds & bulbils from all of them in the hope of some interesting crosses. I might find out in a year or two, or three or four! Anyone else trying this? What have your results been? |
