Plant Event Reports from Kevalsha - Astatula, Florida (Zone 9a)

Plant Date(s) Report
Anador (Justicia pectoralis) On June 21, 2020 Cuttings stuck
I started cuttings (6) and they all are doing fine. Now I can use them in the shade under the camphor tree and in other shady areas.
Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) On September 16, 2019 Obtained plant
I still have about three of these trees in containers and need to find a place to plant them in the ground.
Pigeon Pea (Cajanus cajan) On January 21, 2018 Entered Dormancy
My pigeon peas are now dormant and some of them may not come back as we had cold weather for several hours and they do not like that. I will plant some more pigeon peas. Pigeon Peas are a great substitute for meats. They are cooked the same way as any fabacea or beans. Pigeon peas can be harvested when green but fully mature or they can be left to dry and harvested at that stage. I prefer to harvest them when still green.
Christmas Senna (Senna bicapsularis) On November 2, 2016 Seeds sown
This year I have to trim three huge branches from this bush so it does not get a lot of damage from cold.
Desert Rose (Adenium obesum) On March 11, 2011 Obtained plant
This plant was purchased by my daughter who lives in the Tampa, FL area. She gave it to me when she moved. Since then I have grown several plants from cuttings from the original plant. I gave my daughter (the one in the Tampa area one of the cuttings which is now a beautiful plant. It is now February 2018 and I still have this plant and several others from the cuttings I took.
