Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Aerial Display') |
Have Evergreen Daylily Unusual Form / Spider Daylily |
not blooming when purchased Refused to bloom in original location. Picture 1st ever full bloom. FFO ever wrecked by heavy rain. Definitely extra early, scaping as of 4 Apr 2024 Aerial Display (Stamile, 2003) height 43 inches (109 cm), bloom 9.5 inches (24 cm), season EE, Rebloom, Evergreen, Tetraploid, Fragrant, 25 buds, 5 branches, Spider Ratio 4.00:1, Yellow with maroon red eye above chartreuse throat. ((Moonlit Masquerade × Tet. Rainbow Spangles) × Tet. Marked by Lydia) from archive.org Floyd Cove Nursery 2013 *AERIAL DISPLAY (Stamile,P.) TET 251-N [(Moonlit Masquerade x Tetra Rainbow Spangles) X Tetra Marked By Lydia] 43" EERe. Ev. fr. emo. 9 ½" x 1 ¾" x ¾". 14" wingspan. Cascading spider. Spider ratio 4.0:1. 5-way branching. 25 buds. Strong erect scapes. I have bloomed a good many seedlings from this cross and AERIAL DISPLAY has always been my personal favorite. It is something about the very large size of this flower – 14" if stretched out, 9 ½" as it naturally stands and the gentle cascading presentation of the flowers that make it so beautiful. AERIAL DISPLAY can be described as a yellow with a maroon red eyezone but it is the clarity of color and striking contrast that make this flower one of the boldest in the garden. A great parent for chevron and patterned eye spiders. But alas, I have never gotten a pod on it. To my knowledge, it is pollen fertile only. |

Have Evergreen Daylily |
Not happy in my TX garden from archive.org: trimmerdaylily.com 2016 CACTUS JACK Jack (D. Trimmer) Tetraploid (Gemini Jack x Tetra Making Double Time) 32" M. Ev. Re. 5 ½" This easily pod fertile, very consistent double, resulted from a cross of my conversion of John Kinnebrew's MAKING DOUBLE TIME onto GEMINI JACK. The base color is peach and the bold eye is dark plum with 25 buds per scape. I've hardly ever seen a single bloom on this cultivar, and siblings have been toothy and picoteed, so I expect CACTUS JACK to possess these genetics for those interested in these exciting lines. Much admired, vigorous, and an excellent grower |

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Cameroon Night') |
Have Evergreen Daylily |
Ordered from Debra Zimmerman for Spring 2023 Rec'd 4/20/23 hydrated overnight and planted in large pot 4/21/23 In-ground fall 2023 area 60 from archive.org: trimmerdaylily.com 2016 (Dan Trimmer, 1996). (Cameroons X Tet Peacock Maiden) Evergreen, 7 1/2" flowers, 36" scapes early midseason, rebloomer. This long petaled intense dark purple flower is an excellent melding of its two parents. Size, striking petal midline, and garden statement from T. Peacock Maiden; and saturated color, vigor and bud count from Cameroons. bud count is about 20 in my Long Island garden but up to twice that in Florida. CAMEROON NIGHT reblooms in each location. In my beginners tetraploid long petaled and spider program CAMEROON NIGHT is very important due to its fine pod fertility. The strong scapes are erect and display the large flowers well above most of the daylily garden. This excellent increaser did show some unprotected winter wear and might like some winter mulch. |
