Grew again in Fall 2022 and 2023 and all came or are coming up. Using straw to protect the bulbs helps. Now to learn how to preserve them over the winter.

Grew in fall but disappeared over the winter. Won some garlic in a seed swap, so hoping I can plant them in Nov and get some garlic in 2023.

I've had good success amending the soil with gravel (grit, if I can find it) and sand. It really helps. NO fertilizer, to reflect lavender's ability to grow will in the dry, poor soils of its native Mediterranean climate. There can be loss of plants after a severe winter or a damp, humid summer.

SIZE: Mature Size 2–3 ft. tall, 2–4 ft. wide Hardy Lavender can double in size each year for first 3 years. It continues growing, then at a slower pace until age five. They are considered full-grown after three years. NOTE Toxicity: Lavender can be toxic to pets like dogs and cats.

Sun Exposure Full sun
Soil Type Dry, well-draining

Tender lavender. January 2023. Is alive in greenhouse. Will cut back in spring and see if it regrows in early spring and when planted out. February 3, 2023: Cuttings stuck (Overwintering this plant, and though it is dying back a bit in the new, small greenhouse, I managed to find several fresh cuttings today, still alive. Clipped them and will see if I can get them growing indoors.)

Used to have. Horrendously invasive with deep roots. Seeds freely (too freely.) Take care to manage this carefully if you are an herbalist, and / or look for other, less invasive sources of lemon scent, like lemon mint. Better choices exist for gardens that are not invasive.
