Tender Perennial (Michigan)
I received several tubers of this dahlia from Marcella in 2022. It is a smaller plant, but makes up for it in creating the most lovely, purple round-edged blooms.

2024 solid performer of smaller blooms, lush foliage. Needs good staking.

Size: Small (BB): over 4 to 6 inches in diameter.
Form: Formal Decorative (FD)
Color: Light Blend (LB)
Year Introduced: 1998
Country of Origin: United States

Tender Perennial (Michigan)
New to me in 2023, Sakura Fubuki Dahlia ordered from Old House Dahlias in Oregon. Good prices. Did not see this bloom in 2023. Will check again in 2024 to see if the tuber I have and grew in 2023 produces flowers in 2024.

NOTE: long growing period Advertised as "Extra strong plants."
Height: 36 – 48" Spacing: 18-24 in.
Bloom Season: Summer into Mid to Late Fall Flower color: Pink

Features serrated and semi-frilled florets that are white at the base and turn deep pink near the edges. Some yellow shows near the central petals. Good height for medium size borders and fresh-cut flower arrangements.

May 6, 2023: Potted up (Arrived yesterday, potted up & put in greenhouse. All have sprouts. )
November 22, 2023: Maintenance performed (Seemed like it did not grow, except I dug out a tuber with this label in the corner of the garden by Thomas Edison in 2023. Unsure what kind of blooms it made. Looking for photos.)
December 10, 2023: Winterized (I have two tubers now divided and packaged in vermiculte for 2024. Storing in our insulated garage for the winter with a temp monitor. Will add heat if it gets too cold. )

Part of a Gardenline Yellow / White bulb collection. Note hardy to only 7a. Dig up after bloom and overwinter indoors like gladiolus. Name may is listed as: Gladiolus Acidanthera

Note that the corms are slow to get started. Suggestion include to plant them in pots, about a dozen corms per 12" pot. Also suggestion to plant a handful of corms every 2 weeks, end of April and continuing into early June.

April 25, 2022: Seeds sown (Planted about 10 - 12 small bulbs in sunny spot near the west side of the new greenhouse. )

Got this as part of a package with Banja Luka tulips at Costco to balance out the later bloomers with these midspring blooms. Great price for 50 tulips. This is a newer cultivar. 'Red Impressions' is a Division 4 (Darwin Hybrid) tulip that evidently is in the 'longest term perennial' tulip group. December 25, 2023: Potted up (Potted up, stored in greenhouse until January 4 then moved to the garage for cold winter storage. )
