Diffuse Knapweed (Centaurea diffusa) |
Have Weeds |
This stuff was a real problem when we first bought the land and it completely covered the property. The bugs they used to get it under control have worked well in the whole county. Hand pulling, water, and mowing have brought it well under control for us.

Nootka Rose (Rosa nutkana) |
Have Front Bank Here & There Native Weeds |
Enough already! There was some question as to whether this is correct. Baldhips roses are also native in the county. I'm pretty certain these are nootka - they're taller bushes, the hips aren't bald, and they're in the local native list, so are probably more common.
Small Tumbleweed Mustard (Sisymbrium loeselii) |
Have Weeds |
Kind of a jolly guy. | ||
Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) |
Have Aspen Corner Front Bank Here & There Native Weeds |
Native. Pretty aggressive. I'm trying to get these gone from all the flowerbeds, but it's a battle. At least they pull fairly easy. Aspen I've decided to let these be here because I'm tired of fighting with them. I would like to keep them away from the driveway a bit though. I don't mind them too much, except they just won't give it a rest and they look real ratty after they bloom unless I go deadhead them all. Also I don't like the smell of the foliage. |

Western Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron rydbergii) |
Have Weeds |
This is the bane of my existence. Every year we have more of it, and it's beginning to show up in my gardens. I'm so allergic.
Yellow Salsify (Tragopogon dubius) |
Have Native Weeds |
I kind of like these giant dandelions.
Common Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) |
Have Weeds |
Just a big weed |
