As I grew up and encountered new folks, I heard the term patty pan used. Today we usually know them as scallops. The White Bush was what folks grew in my youth. (246 words - Read the full article)

Some new reviews from the ATP Green Pages:

vitrsna recommended Chiltern Seeds and wrote:

I have been finding wonderful seeds at Chiltern Seeds in the UK for about 7 years and all my orders have been error free. They ship internationally, in my case to Mexico, and every experience, from finding the seeds I want to order at their website to the arrival at my door, has been a smooth ride, correct and timely. I can't recall an order of seeds that didn't germinate successfully. They have a vast selection and a surprisingly good selection of seeds for tropical climates. I rate them in my top 5 favorite seed companies.

Ecograndma recommended Green Acres and wrote:

Finally have a great new garden center in Elk Grove, CA! Love, love, love this place. They sell all our organic supplies, and organic and heirloom plants. We can spend hours just walking around. This place has everything for your gardening needs.

Ecograndma recommended Pleasants Valley Iris Farm and wrote:

Another great business in California to purchase iris. I have not visited the farm, but order iris online. So far, so good. Great selection, good prices, and great shipping. I have purchased about 20 irises in total so far. All irises purchased are thriving and are beautiful. I highly recommend this business.

Ecograndma recommended Horton Iris Garden and wrote:

These gardens are breathtaking. Located about 20 miles north of Sacramento. You can view approximately 1200 varieties of Iris and purchase some during your visit or order during your visit. You can pick up your Irises in August or they ship to you. There are picnic areas and you can spend the entire day just walking around five acres of the most beautiful flowers. Have taken my granddaughters on numerous occasions. I have purchased over 30 Irises and they are all multiplying and healthy. A must-see destination.

rosesse recommended Texas Water Lilies and wrote:

This year was my first ordering from this vendor. After comparison shopping on-line, I found they had the best selection and best prices. I ordered in February and immediately received a phone call (!) asking whether I wanted the hardy plants shipped immediately and the tropicals later or if everything should be combined in one order. What great customer service! The plants were beautifully packed and double bagged. I'm very happy with everything I received. Note, unlike many vendors, TWL doesn't send a page of instructions with the plants. The instructions on their site are extremely comprehensive. Just remember to take a look to refresh your memory before you're in mud to your elbows.

We keep growing, because ATP is where all the excitement is these days! Check out these numbers from last week:
