In mid-February, I ordered 8 Amaryllis bulbs from White Flower Farm. The bulbs arrived in one box with each bulb in a small brown bag with 'id stick' to use at planting. Each bulb was firm, heavy, with wonderful root structure. My plan was to give one the bulbs to my sister-in-law who has also contracted "amaryllis-itis." Unfortunately, the bulb I gave her was mislabeled and they were out of stock on the one I ordered. I almost didn't get a chance to tell the operator what the problem was! I received a very genuine apology; a note that as soon as the fall bulbs were received I would have 2 sent to my home to replace hers and one for me for the trouble. I almost didn't write this review because the interaction with White Flower Farm was due to a problem, but I think that gardeners need to know how customer service is handled. In this case, it was handled most graciously in 5 minutes or less! Their products are not cheap, but you get the quality you pay for. This applies to every interaction with the staff, including answering questions that show my gardener naiveté. Their bulbs can't be called cheap, but you can be sure of being a happy customer.
I ordered two Orchids and a plumeria cutting (one I desperately wanted) from Tropical Plants & More. I cannot say enough kind things about Ken or his shop. My plants arrived very quickly, in wonderful condition, and with super precise packaging. Now I like Ken, not only as a person, but also as a vendor/merchant. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and answered every question I could possibly have. Ken's prices are competitively well priced for a small business, and you can be assured that his plants are extremely well taken care of and grown with care. You can tell that he truly loves what he does! Picture of the two orchids fresh out of the box (up front in photo):
I have purchased from the Sempervivum Patch for the last couple of years and will continue to purchase from her as the semps are healthy and well packaged. Love the acrylic markers as they look great without detracting from the plant.
Check out these numbers from last week:
