I love the cilantro in California but have trouble keeping it alive in North Carolina. Can you suggest a specific kind of cilantro to grow from seed indoors or out? |
Cilantro is Coriander, an annual herb that grows in full sunshine and average garden soil. As an annual, it it will develop flowers and set seed, and then die. You can prolong the life of the plant by regularly cutting or harvesting the leaves throughout the spring and summer months. If you allow it to go to seed in the late summer, new plants will emerge in the spring. Or, allow it to flower and set seeds, then collect the seeds and sow them outdoors in the springtime. |
