I have some seeds I bought last year that say they're packed for 1998. Are they OK to use this year?

You can expect your seeds will germinate and grow well if planted in the spring. The shelf life of seeds is directly related to storage conditions. If they're kept in an airtight container, in a cool, dark place, they will remain viable for several years. Go ahead and plant your seeds this spring, and expect that most of the seeds will germinate.
