Do snake plants bloom and if they do how do I make them bloom? |
Yes, snake plants or mother-in-law's tongues (a form of sansevieria) can bloom eventually. Although the flowers are not much to look at and do not last very long, they are fragrant at night. The best way to encourage them to do so is to treat them well by providing moderate indirect light, regular fertilization using a water-soluble fertilizer according to the label instructions, and then allowing them to become pot-bound. It may take up to five years before you see blooms! |
