The Q&A Archives: Plants to Grow Under a Dryer Vent

Question: I'm sure this is a strange question, but we have a small flower bed that sits beneath a dryer vent. The space is also in full sun most of the day. Is there anything that would grow under these conditions? Donna Gulnac Los Angeles, CA

You're right. I've never had this question before!!! I would guess that any plant that does  well in the wind and with heat such as oleander and yucca may do okay under the dryer vent.  Since I assume you're only using the dryer maybe once a day or so, then it probably isn't too much  of a problem. I'd experiment with some low growing plants and see what does the best.
