The Q&A Archives: Postage Stamp Garden

Question: We are planning our second vegetable garden, and have seen some articles on getting the most out of your gardening space. We are planning to put in some raised beds in a postage stamp garden. Can you provide some information or a good source book on raised beds and postage stamp gardens?

Answer: Other names for this technique are intensive and square foot gardening, and yes, it really does work! You might try "Small Space, Big Harvest" by Duane Newcomb (he also wrote the "Postage Stamp Garden Book"), or either of these two classics: "How to Grow More Vegetables...than you ever thought possible on less land than you can imagine" by John Jeavons, or "Square Fopot Gardening" by Mel Bartholomew. Good luck with your "little" project!
