| Flowering shrubs for full sun that do well in your area include spirea, glossy abelia, flowering quince, perennial types of hibiscus (such as Lord Baltimore and Texas Star), 'Nearly Wild' rose, and Buddlea davidii. For partial shade you might want to try azaleas (they'll need a soil built up with lots of compost), the Sasanqua types of camelias, hydrangeas, English dogwood, Silver bells, and Virginia Sweetspire.
