| Last fall I planted tulips for the first time, and in the area where I planted them there are also peonies and other perennial flowers. I would like to plant a ground cover in the area where I planted the tulips. I'm looking for something that would flower and look attractive, but also allow the tulips and other flowers to grow through it. The area faces west and gets all of the afternoon sun. |
| There are several low-growing groundcovers that will help keep weeds down and still allow your bulbs and perennials to thrive. Lysimachia, Fragaria (especially 'Pink Panda'), cymbalaria (Kenilworth Ivy), Lamium and Houttuynia are some good choices for the site.
