The easiest way to control corn earworm is to place a few drops of mineral oil on the silks after the silks wilt, to prevent the adults from laying eggs. Or, you can use the botanical Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) to kill the larvae if you discover them as they're beginning to crawl into the ears of corn. Inspect the ears regularly so you can treat the problem as soon as it becomes evident and you should be able to get and keep the upper hand with an invasion of corn earworms.
