Do you cut biennial hollyhocks back at the end of the season or in the spring? |
Hollyhocks don't really lend themselves to being cut back until after they have bloomed. As part of general clean-up in the fall, remove browned tall stems and any discolored foliage after hard frost. In the spring, remove any additional discolored foliage but leave the healthy looking leaves alone. Sounds too easy, doesn't it. |
