I'm growing two different Burpee tomato seeds - Heatwave II, and 4th of July. The plot of land I want to cultivate is primarily North/South, and I want to plant the Tomatoes with the longest vines in the Northern-most section, and the shorter plants in the Southern-most section. Can you tell me if these two varieties will have long vines?

Heatwave II is a determinate type tomato which means it will grow to a certain height and develop a crop that will ripen all at the same time. Determinate type tomato plants are generally compact and rarely grow over 4' tall. 4th of July is an indeterminate type tomato plant that will continue to grow and produce fruit over a long summer season. It will produce the longest stems and should be planted in the northern-most section of your garden.
