Can I successfully grow cowpeas in Massachusetts Zone 6? I have heard that it is a southern vegetable. Can you give me any directions on how I would grow them?

You can probably grow them, especially if you use them like snap beans while they're green. Varieties like 'Lady' and 'Mississippi Silver' are good for this purpose. They do best in areas with long summers with average daily temps 60-70F, and that long season is necessary if you want to dry them.
