I am preparing to send my Sure Start plant order, and I need to know which tomatoes available in Sure Start plants are resistant to Fusarium and Verticillum wilt. I've lost my tomato plants to wilt the past two years. I want to purchase a "regular" (round) tomato and also an Italian-type "plum" tomato, so I specifically want to know which varieties, including Ensalada and Viva Italia, are resistant.

The following are resistant to Fusarium (F) and Verticillum Wilt (V):

Burpee's Early Pick
Early Girl
Heatwave II
Northern Exposure
Burpee Big Girl
Big Beef
Celebrity
Better Boy
Bush Big Boy
Supertasty
Winter Red Hybrid
Burpee Supersteak Hybrid
Super Sweet 100 Hybrid
Husky Gold
Vivia Italia Hybrid
Italian Gold Hybbrid
Roma VF

Just a reminder that "disease resistant" doesn't mean "disease proof," so take precautions to keep plants as healthy as possible. You may even want to plant one or two of your transplants in pots as insurance. Best of luck!
