The Q&A Archives: Evergreen Shrubs for New England

Question: I'd like to replace two overgrown evergreen bushes in front of my house with another evergreen bush or shrub. I'm thinking of something that doesn't get very tall and will tolerate New England winters. Any suggestions? Melissa Gorman East Bridgewater, MA

Answer: There are lots of shrubs you can try. For shade try rhododendrons, azaleas, holly or mountain laurels. For full sun try potentilla, junipers, arborvitae and spirea. Check your local nurseries for the best selections. Enjoy!
