The Q&A Archives: Pruning Hibiscus in Florida

Question: Our hibiscus were planted last spring and have bloomed all year. Should they be pruned? If so, how and how much?

Answer: They don't need to be pruned. The reason to prune them would be if they are outgrowing a certain area or getting too tall. Then simply cut them back to a shape aesthetically pleasing to you. They will respond with plenty of new growth.
