Our hibiscus were planted last spring and have bloomed all year. Should they be pruned? If so, how and how much?

They don't need to be pruned. The reason to prune them would be if they are outgrowing a certain area or getting too tall. Then simply cut them back to a shape aesthetically pleasing to you. They will respond with plenty of new growth.
