I am looking for a type of plant that will grow well in a heavy stone planter in a very sunny/hot area. Preferably something with small leaves that has a more delicate look to it. I am adding some large pots to the front porch, and would like to have something that will last all summer. *The porch recieves full sun, all day long.
Any suggestions?

For smaller leafed blooming plants you might look at some of the trailing verbenas or perhaps the Star Series Zinnias (Z. augustifolia). For foliage plants some of the thymes will soften and trail but not quite cascade; some of the smaller forms of English ivy can also be charming and do not mind heat as long as there is sufficient moisture.
