The Q&A Archives: "Candy Lily" That Don't Sprout

Question: title Q.I recently purchased seeds for perennials (my first attempt at growing perennials at home). I purchased the Blue Fescue Ornamental Grass and Candy Lilies. After two weeks, the grass is all up and doing well. Not a single lily has sprouted. I realize it says 10-21 days but these are inside and I feel should have sprouted by now. What should I do? Jeanie Levelle Lumberport, WV

Answer: I'm not sure what plant your "Candy lily" refers to. Is it a Canna or Calla lily? Anyway, be patient and wait another two weeks before pronouncing them dead. Plants sometimes are slow to germinate or just need a little extra time.
