I recently moved to NC from the midwest. We had raspberries from July through the first frost. Will rasberries grow in NC? If so, what varieties are best for the climate? |
You can grow 'Summit' and 'Golden Summit' raspberry cultivars in your Zone 7 garden with reliable results. Summit is a productive red everbearing variety and should produce a crop the first season it's planted. This variety should be mowed down to within a few inches of the ground each winter. 'Golden Summit' culture is the same, but this plant produces delicious golden colored fruit, instead of the traditional red fruit. |
