Scientific tests indicate that the amount of acidity in all varieties of tomatoes is essentially the same. Individuals dispute this, though, saying that some tomatoes have more of an acid taste than others. Those that seem to taste sweeter to most individuals include the yellow tomatoes and the cherry tomatoes. Burpee's catalog carries 'Sweet Tangerine', a yellow tomato, 'Gardener's Delight', 'Super Sweet 100', 'Yellow Pear' and 'Tumbler'.
