I live in Boston and have a deck. I'd like to grow some fragrant plants in containers. Do you have some suggestions?

You might consider moonflower vines (fragrant at night), matthiola (stock), herbs such as mint, curry plant, thyme, lemon verbena, pineapple sage, and rosemary. The many wonderful scented geraniums (the flowers are not much but the foliage is fragrant and usually quite attractive); tuberose (a summer bulb) and some lilies (also bulbs) are intensely fragrant and will add some variety to your deck planting. Finally, some petunias are also fragrant, particularly at night.
