We have a large woodland area and would like to purchase lady's slippers seeds or plants to grow in this area. Any idea of where they might be purchased either in NJ, or through the mail?

The terrestrial orchid Lady's Slipper, Cypripedium, is nearly impossible to establish from seed so you will probably want to purchase plants -- please look for those which have been nursery propagated rather than wild collected. This plant is also extremely difficult to grow unless you can provide it exactly the right soil and environment, so you might wish to experiment with just a few at a time until you find the right spot.

Carson Whitlow, a well-known authority on these plants, sells some. http://www.orchidmall.com/cyp....
