| I have a Staghorn Fern hanging in a wire basket. it looks like it has babies coming from the sides of it. Is this how it multiplies? If not, how does it propagate? |
| Your Staghorn Fern (Platycerium bifurcatum) produces both sterile and fertile fronds. The fertile fronds are forked, resembling deer antlers. The plant freely sets offshoots which are, as you suspect, baby plants. You can gently remove the offshoots and attach them to a slab of bark, where they will grow into mature plants. |
