The Q&A Archives: Mosquito Repellant Plant

Question: I need to know the name of the most mosquito repellant plant. I would prefer to start my own from seed.

Answer: There is a scented geranium that is rumored to have mosquito repellant properties. Its botanical name is Pelargonium crispum. The leaves of this geranium have a citrusy, lemon smell when crushed. To get the full effect, crush a few leaves and sit within a few feet of the plant.
