The Q&A Archives: Annual Bedding Plants

Question: Please provide a list of 10 annual bedding plants for sun/shade that will do well in Pennsylvania?

Answer: Most plants have a preference for either a sunny spot or a shady spot. Some annuals commonly used for bedding which do well in sun are marigolds, petunias, zinnias, snapdragons, geraniums, salvia, Dusty Miller, sweet alyssum, vinca, and ageratum. In part shade to shade, bedding choices are more limited but might include single hybrid impatiens, African and New Guinea Impatiens, coleus, caladium, lobelia, fibrous begonias, and hypoestes.
