Belle of Woking clemetis-Do it prune it or not? Do the flowers bloom on old wood or new?

'Belle of Woking' is a Jackmanii clematis of the florida group. It flowers in late spring on the previous year's wood. To prune, wait til after flowering, and then trim the shoot tips back to two or three pairs of buds.
