The answer to your question depends on what types of wildflowers you are trying to grow. Many of the annuals will seed easily, but many of the perennials have specialized germination requriements including a period of cold stratification and/or other special growing conditions. If you are trying to seed outside you will need to control weeds and prepare the planting bed ahead of time just as for any other planting; given the difficulties, many gardeners find it is more effective to grow wild flowers from transplants.
