The earliest season vegetables are probably the cole crops (broccoli, cabbage), onions, lettuce and other greens, plus snow peas and potatoes. Planting however hinges on your last expected frost date, with the cole crops and onions transplanted outside about 5 weeks ahead, the lettuce about a month ahead, and the peas and potatoes planted outdoors in March according to local custom. Your County Extension (769-0090) may be the best source for localized planting dates.
