Is there a better way to plant those incredibly small seeds (lettuce, spinach, etc.)? I end up just sprinkling them and then they come up in clumps and much is wasted by the thinning. I know there is "seed tape", but have found limited vegetables and varieties.

I sympathize with you! I always mix my tiny seeds into a cupful of sand. You'll still need to thin, but the seeds usually land a little further away from one another when mixed with sand. An added bonus is that you can actually see where you've broadcast the seeds! Hope this works as well for you as it does for me!
