| If your partial shade is morning sun followed by afternoon shade, then you might try some shorter annuals in the front such as sweet alyssum or fibrous rooted begonias with impatiens, coleus and nicotiana behind them and astilbe, large hostas and perhaps goatsbeard (aruncus) behind that. If your partial shade is morning shade followed by afternoon sun, then you will need to select from among the more sun loving plants -- this would include sweet alyssum, marigolds, ageratum and petunias for shorter plants, salvias, zinnias, snapdragons and nicotiana for medium height and sunflowers, gloriosa daisies and cosmos for taller plants. You would plant these after the danger of frost in your area. |
