I just bought a package of "Lavender Lady" seeds and I wanted to know if the seeds could be sown directly outside or must they be started indoors first. I live in New Jersey.

"Lavender Lady" blooms the first year from seed; since the seeds germinate better in a warm soil (say about 70 degrees) you can hasten the process by starting them indoors.
