The Q&A Archives: Transplanting Tulip Bulbs

Question: When is the best time to transplant tulip bulbs that are in the ground and are finished blooming for the season?

Answer: If you know that your tulips are the varieties that will successfully come back to naturalize in your climate, transplant them in mid-summer. If you have modern hybrid tulips, note that very few varieties return a second year to give a worthy show.In other words, they may not be worth the effort.
