What's the best type of of perennial for a shaded area under a tree?

Plants that grow well in shade include Campanula, Begonia, Astilbe, Anemone, Crassula, Dicentra, Ferns, Sweet Woodruff, Coral Bells, Helleborus, Saxifrage, Baby's Tears and Pansies. You might also try Hosta and Bishop's Weed if brightly colored flowers are not important in the area.
