The Q&A Archives: Fall Crocus

Question: I saw a fall crocus blooming in Connecticut in September and have been unable to find the bulb that produces this bloom. Can you help me?

Answer: Fall blooming or autumn crocus (Colchicum) are usually sold for planting in the late summer and early fall. Bulb specialists such as McClure and Zimmerman (108 W. Winnebago Street, POBox 368, Friesland, WI 53935-0368) will offer a number of choices.
