Seed starting mix is a blend of peat and other ingredients such as perlite or vermiculite. It is screened to a very fine particle size to create the perfect mix for starting seeds. It holds moisture yet drains away excess moisture. It is well aerated and often fortified with some nutrients to get seedlings off to a good start.
