The Q&A Archives: Onions

Question: I have onions which were left in the bag long enough to start sprouting. How do I plant these so they aren't wasted? The sprouts look like the green onions already.

Answer: Go ahead and plant the onions now. Many places sell onion transplants, which are simply onions that have already sprouted! Your onions should not be adversely affected by their late start in the garden if you get them in the ground now.
