Can you tell me the scientific name for a shrub/tree called Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow? This shrub/tree has beautiful flowers that are purple when they first bloom, but go through stages of lightening, thus the name of the shrub since it contains three colors of purple/lavender on it at the same time. Thanks. |
The botanical name of the plant known as 'Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow' is Brunfelsia pauciflora 'Floribunda'. It gets its common name from the quick color change of blossoms; purple (yesterday), lavender (today) and white (tomorrow). The shrub can reach 10' but can be held to about 3' with regular pruning. |
