I am planning to landscape around an above ground pool and need to know if there are any plants or shrubs that are able to survive the chlorinated water that may splash over the side of the pool during heavy summer activity.

Most plants will object to repeated contact with heavily chlorinated pool water, especially on hot sunny days. This is why so many pools are surrounded by as wide a deck or patio as possible. To minimize the expense of repairing any damage, you might prefer to use lawn immediately around the pool and then plant more elaborately in one or more focal areas that can be viewed from poolside.
